Stewart Mandel of Sports Illustrated is talking about the Heisman curse.  In case you haven’t heard of it, the Heisman curse has affected many of its winners in the past, causing them, as well as the rest of their team, to preform under par in a bowl game.  A lot of this is blamed on the change of pace for the players.

After finals the men are shipped from one city to another, eating whatever is put in front of them, all the while neglecting their workout routine.  This leaves them less conditioned for the big game.

Not to mention the mental impact such a prestigious award could have on a player…
